Glider installation



Open the web browser on your cell phone and go to: http://ooros.com/getglider.html as shown on the image. Actual output might be significantly different from the screenshot above depending on the specific cell phone model. May you be requested to allow internet connection, please accept.

You can download Glider from this link onto your computer and upload it on your cell phone via bluetooth or USB connection.

Please choose your favourite Glider version by clicking on the corresponding link to start the download. Either during or after completion of the download you may be requested for permission to install the application; please acknowledge the request.






Upon succesful completion of the download, the cell phone displays the data for the application. Please select "Continue" to complete Glider's installation. Now the application menu of your cell phone should include Glider; you can start it simply clicking on its icon in such a menu. After installation you can move on to configure Glider and fill in your data.



The first time Glider is run, you will be presented its configuration screen: please fill in a valid Jabber/Gtalk/iChat user id and the corresponding password. If you don't have one already, you can easily get one on the Ooros site (Register).
The form comprises two fields:

  • Jabber ID: your user id
  • Password: the corresponding password.

Upon completing the form, please press the "Login" button to start. Glider is supported on a large number of cell phones models which are automatically detected and recognized; however was the keyboard been incorrectly identified, you can press the "keyboard configuration" button to start the manual configuration wizard.






After the login step is completed, the main Glider screen appears where you can access all the features and options of the application. A command is associated with each key:

  • Login/Logout: tells the client to switch either to online or offline depending on the current status.
  • Messenger: displays the roster screen with all the contacts (and logs in to the system if currently offline).
  • News: opens Glider's integrated news reader.
  • Album: takes you to the multimedia album containing all the images and the audio files recorded and saved through Glider.
  • Keyboard Config: allows to manually configure the keyboard if Glider failed to properly recognize all the special keys.
